Vietnam is known as an agricultural country. Therefore, in Vietnamese folk religious culture, there are 4 agricultural Gods represented for the weather which is Cloud, Rain, Thunder and Lighting. Vietnamese believe that with the blessing from the 4 Gods, the harvest crop will be greater than usual.
“Phap Vu” - "The God of Rain" which is a combination of half - human and half “God Turtle” (a sacred creature living in Water). A lady in Vietnamese traditional costume (inspired by the “Nhat Binh”) decorated with ancient patterns is strumming “Dan Bau” - a unique Vietnamese one-stringed instrument. With lyrical and emollient melody, “Dan Bau” simulates high and low tones, along with bass and treble like underwater sounds.
